DALLAS — The woman accusing Dak Prescott of sexual assault has dropped the lawsuit against him filed in Dallas County and plans to refile in Collin County, according to one of her attorneys.

Yoel Zehaie, an attorney for the accuser, told WFAA the decision to move the case to Collin County is because that’s where Prescott filed an extortion lawsuit against her, in which he seeks $1 million for damages against the woman and her attorneys.

Zehaie says the move is “for purposes of convenience.” The request to drop the case was submitted on April 8 and the order was signed April 12.

The woman originally filed a lawsuit against Prescott in March, claiming the Dallas Cowboys quarterback sexually assaulted her in the back of an SUV in 2017. Prescott has denied the allegations.

Before filing the lawsuit, the woman and her attorneys wrote a letter to Prescott discussing the assault and requesting $100 million in exchange for not filing a police report or going public with the news. In response, Prescott and his lawyers filed the extortion suit.

Zehaie called the extortion suit “a smokescreen to distract from the real topic that should be discussed. And that is that a rape was committed by Dak Prescott.”

In the lawsuit, Prescott’s lawyer, Levi McCathern, called the woman’s claims false.

“Sexual assault is a despicable crime that no person should ever endure,” the lawsuit said. “Defendants’ false claims in this regard undermine the courage of actual sexual assault survivors everywhere as well as the legitimacy of the horrific traumas they have endured.”
