SAN MARCOS, Texas — Texas State’s annual River Fest is back after an eight-year hiatus with a performance by Tyga on April 11 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
River Fest is a 20-year Bobcat tradition at Sewell Park. Introduced in 2003, students can participate in outdoor activities, listen to live music, cool off in the water and relax before the spring semester comes to an end.
In 2017, Gaillardia Fest was introduced to the university and River Fest was canceled and hadn’t returned since. That is until several student-run organizations partnered to bring back the annual festival this year.
The event is free to current Texas State students. Attendees will be required to present a valid TXST ID to enter the festival.
Alcohol, outside food and drink, professional cameras, amplified sound, large flotation devices, lawn chairs and weapons are not permitted.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase from various on-site vendors.
Vendors include:
Bazaar Bites
Café on the Square
Keeterskitchen
Kona Ice
La Ola Pop
The Salty Donut
Attractions such as caricature drawings, a rock-climbing wall, air brush tattoo art, a mechanical shark and more will also be available along with various vendors. See here for the full list of attractions and vendors.
