AUSTIN, Texas — Don't have a badge for SXSW? Don't worry. The annual film, media and music festival just announced its lineup of free shows by the scenic Lady Bird Lake where everyone is invited to enjoy a night of funk, rock & roll or kid-friendly tunes.
The free concert will take place at Auditorium Shores on the last weekend of the festival from Thursday, March 14 to Saturday, March 16. Shows are from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. each day, and doors open at 2 p.m.
Attendees can bring a picnic blanket and their own food or order from on-site food trucks. Drinks will also be available at The Beer Garden.

Kicking off the weekend is a lineup of Austin-based artists like Bob Schneider, Joe "King" Carrasco and Vallejo, many of whom started their music careers in the Live Music Capital of the World. The night of local acts is in honor of Steamboat 1874, a legendary music venue on 6th Street that's famously where Stevie Ray Vaughn's "In The Beginning" album was recorded, and where Carrasco, Schneider and Vallejo played before it closed in the late '90s.
In partnership with the San Antonio Spurs, there will also be a raffle to raise money for PlayATX and the Austin Parks Foundation, along with games, photo-ops and free swag.
