SEGUIN, Texas — Davila's BBQ is a Texas staple. The business is located about 35 miles east of San Antonio in Seguin. Owner Adrian Davila's grandfather started the business more than 60 years ago.

"So passion for his family and passion for barbecue were two very big drivers of my grandfather, which ultimately led to great barbecue," said Davila.

Adrian Davila is a third-generation pitmaster and barbecue expert. He's been part of the family business for several decades. You could say barbecue is in his blood.

"Here's what my grandfather built many many moons ago: it's our sausage pit and we still make that jut like we did 65 years ago," said Davila.

Among racks of sausage of brisket are traditional spices and rubs used to give the barbecue some kick. But, it's a love of family that makes everything at Davila's a little sweeter; all started by grandfather Raul.

"Being devoted to his family, that's how my dad was. That's how my brothers are. That's how I am. So, you have to thank your elders for what they taught you because they ultimately teach you how to live," Davila said.
