DALLAS — An all-new glow-in-the-dark interactive playground has just opened in the Farmers Branch area of Dallas.

Joya, translated as “Jewel” in Spanish, is a unique and playground that glows in the dark on Saturday nights. Crowning itself as the “Crown Jewel of Playgrounds,” the playground comes alive in the nighttime with interactive features that glow.

The playground includes a 27-foot sphere, perfect for climbing, with hammocks, a slide and a mesh enclosure. The main playground is full of obstacle courses, a zip line and seats that all glow in the dark. The park also includes a 7,000-square-foot playground for the little ones that is also lit up with LED lights.

The park, located at 12301 Tom Field Rd, is a part of the Oran Good Park Complex and is now open every day from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The lights turn on at sunset, according to the website.

The eccentric development was constructed and designed using $4 million granted by the Federal American Rescue Plan Act and a $750,000 matching grant from Texas Parks & Wildlife.
