AUSTIN, Texas — As Texas braces for its first major winter temperature drop, furry friends are in need of your assistance to get ready.
Austin Pets Alive! is asking the community to help provide warm foster homes over the weekend for approximately 240 dogs and 30 cats.
The shelter aims to place as many animals as possible in foster homes by Sunday.
You can find foster applications online that offer different choices depending on your home and preferred way of helping. You have the choice of short-term sleepovers, lasting between two nights and one week, or long-term stays, which can be as short as a few weeks or as long as you want.
If you’re unable to help foster, Austin Animal Center is asking community members to help out by dropping off supplies for the animals. Monetary donations, supplies or anything to help keep the animals warm like sweaters are appreciated.
