AUSTIN, Texas — ‘Tis the season for Austin to fully embrace the holiday spirit with community festivities starting this weekend as the highly anticipated Trail of Lights is coming back to town!
The 59th annual Austin Trail of Lights will kick off this Friday, Dec. 1 at Zilker Park with the 10th annual Night Lights Preview Party, presented by Broadway Bank. This exclusive opportunity allows visitors to see a sneak peek of the Trail before its Grand Opening on Dec. 8. Event passes grant you access to complimentary bites from popular Austin restaurants, festive beverages, unlimited amusement park rides, and an evening of live music featuring Tameca Jones, Lance Lipinsky, Big Wy’s Brass Band & Sarah Hall.
The Trail now includes more than 2 million illuminating lights, 90 holiday trees, and more than 70 festive displays and decorated tunnels. This event has become a staple, attracting thousands of exuberant guests from across Texas and around the world each year to view the elaborate embellishments.
The fun continues on Saturday, Dec. 2 for the “Trail of Lights Fun Run.” The course is open to all ages to run or jog a 2-mile course starting at the Zilker Holiday Tree extending through the Trail of Lights. Enjoy holiday fun, food and entertainment at the Austin Trail of lights all weekend long!
