DALLAS — New and exciting events and exhibits are coming to the State Fair of Texas this year. The 24-day event kicks off this fall and has something for every family member to enjoy.

Dinosaurs at the Lagoon will feature 10 life-sized dinosaurs that were native to Texas, a kids’ play area and plenty of seating and dining options. Guests can join Dr. Diggie-Bones at her dig site for “Dino Tales” for an interactive storytime focused on archaeological digs, pre-historic creatures and more.

The fringe stage will feature three new acts. To cool off in the intense Texas heat, Acrobuffos brings water bombs in an interactive and epic water balloon fight. World-renowned street performer Sara Twister will bring her contortionist and archery skills and husband-and-wife duo Street Circus will bring their acrobatic act to the fair.

Every day at the Oak Farms Theater, Soap Bubble Circus will perform Guinness World Record-breaking feats of bubble-ology, and kids can enjoy the Little Lone Stars’ Craft Corral in the Creative Arts Building.

In partnership with the Texas Discovery Gardens, Jackson’s Home and Garden and Christmas Décor, start your holiday celebrations early at the fair this year with the Home for the Holidays Christmas décor showcase!

A new exhibit from the African American Museum called “If You Look Hard Enough, You Can See Our Futures” fuses paintings, works on paper, sculptures and photography as visual documentation of forgotten images and histories.

Another highlight will be the Texas Tech Centennial exhibit will focus on Texas Tech’s first 100 years, including its history and the heritage of its unique Spanish Renaissance architecture and achievements in athletics. It will also place a spotlight on Tech’s most impressive and influential people. The Texas Ranger Bicentennial exhibit will educate visitors about the Rangers' 200 years of service to the people of the Lone Star State.

The state fair will host these and dozens of other events and exhibits Sept. 29 to Oct. 22. For tickets, head to the State Fair of Texas website.
