Spirit Airlines, in a statement to Spectrum News just before 10:30 a.m. CDT Thursday, said a network issue that was causing delays across the country has been resolved and it was working its way back to normal operations.
Passengers across the country took to social media earlier Thursday morning to express their frustration over lengthy delays.
The low-cost, Florida-based carrier released a statement in which it blamed “technical issues” for the unavailability of its app, website and kiosks at airports nationwide.
“We are currently experiencing a technical issue. Spirit.com, the Spirit Airlines app and our airport kiosk are currently unavailable at this time,” the statement reads. "We anticipate longer than usual lines at the airport so please plan on arriving early."
Spirit urged customers to check here for up-to-date flight information.
Tommy Fletcher, Spirit senior media relations specialist, released the following statement to Spectrum News:
"We have resolved a network issue between third party services that affected our website, mobile app and some internal applications. We apologize for any delays and inconvenience, and we're now working our way back to normal operations.
