TEXAS — A Texas man has been banned from United Airlines after assaulting an employee on a United Airlines flight departing from San Francisco International Airport flight Sunday evening, according to KNTV, the NBC television affiliate for the Bay Area, citing police and the airline.

Video from the plane shows 47-year-old Cody Benjamin Lovins, of Montgomery, Texas, throwing punches at an airline employee after he and his wife were asked to move seats.

San Francisco police at the airport responded to the incident and detained Lovins. According to KTNV, he was cited for battery and has since been released.

United Airlines released a statement explaining that Lovins’ behavior was “unacceptable,” and that he has been banned from future flights. The airline also stated that it is working alongside law enforcement in their investigation.
