EAST MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — An accident between an 18-wheeler and train in East Montgomery County Monday morning left one dead. The crash caused multiple rail cars of the train to derail along Highway 59 near Midline Road.

The collision occurred shortly before 7:30 a.m. northeast of Houston, between the cities of Splendora and Cleveland. 

When East Montgomery County Fire Department arrived on scene, the truck had major damage. The driver of the vehicle succumbed to injuries sustained from the wreck.
