TEXAS — The Don’t Mess with Texas scholarship is now accepting applications through March 31. Any high school senior attending public, private or home school and who is planning to attend a Texas university or college in the fall is eligible to apply for the scholarship.
There will be one grand prize of $5,000, and two students will win $2,000. Applicants must be current Texas residents.
Don’t Mess with Texas launched its campaign more than 35 years ago to keep the state highways litter-free. As part of the scholarship application, students will need to answer questions on how they are involved in reducing litter in their communities as well as how they are beautifying their state.
Applications are due by 5 p.m. on March 31.
