GEORGETOWN, Texas — Many of the buildings in downtown Georgetown, Texas, are said to be haunted. Some say that the Williamson Museum, located across the street from the courthouse, has ghostly visitors.

"We have about five ghosts that actually hang out here in the museum building," said museum educator Danelle Houck.

The museum used to be a bank more than 100 years ago. Visitors claim to see spirits near the old vault.

"People have seen arms or even a figure," said Houck.

She has her own ghost story. It happened in a hallway one night after the museum had closed.

"I came in. I didn't turn on any lights and, basically, there was a woman in white here. So I've seen her. Some people who are alone at times have seen her. She is one of our full-body apparitions," said Houck.

There's also a ghost story down the street from the museum involving a set of stairs. A few years ago surveillance cameras caught a moving shadow at the top of the stairs. People believe it's the spirit of a woman named Leann.

"We have a lot of history, so it makes sense that we're also haunted. It can be the energy of the store or the renovations that really stir things. We have everybody coming to us telling us ghost stories," said Houck.

And as long as those spirits stick around, Houck says she will as well, to tell museum visitors about things that go bump in the night!
