HOUSTON — Houston students will have an out-of-this-world opportunity this week to speak with NASA astronauts who are aboard the International Space Station.

Bob Hines and Kjell Lindgren will answer pre-recorded questions during this space-to-Earth call from students attending Sam Houston Math, Science, Technology Center High School. Both astronauts are aboard NASA’s SpaceX Crew-4 mission to the ISS, which launched on April 27. Hines is serving as the pilot and Lindgren is working as the commander.

The call will air on NASA television on Thursday, Sept. 22 from 11:10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. EDT.

Astronauts have been living aboard the space station for the last 21 years, testing technologies and developing skills to further space exploration from Earth. They communicate with NASA’s mission control center 24 hours day through the Near Space Network Tracking and Data Relay Satellites.
