TEXAS — Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s schedule shows he didn’t attend any of the funerals for the 21 victims of the May 24 mass shooting in Uvalde, documents obtained by Waco ABC televisoin affiliate KXXV show.

While Abbott did visit Uvalde following the shooting, his last visit was on June 5, when he met with Uvalde District Attorney Christina Busbee.

The records request spans May 25 to June 15.

The shooting at Robb Elementary School claimed the lives of 19 children and two teachers.

On Sunday, a nearly 80-page report compiling findings by the Texas House committee investigating the shooting was released. A short time later, police body cam footage detailing law enforcement’s response to the shooting was made public.

Abbott was critical of law enforcement following the report’s release, writing, “The finding in their investigative report are beyond disturbing and raise serious concerns about the response that day. There are critical changes needed as a result of the Texas House’s findings.”

Abbott did attend multiple public vigils, records show.

Family members confirmed to KXXV that Abbott’s Democratic challenger for governor, Beto O’Rourke, did attend some funerals.

Recent polls suggest Abbott is leading O’Rourke by 5 or 6 points ahead of the November election.
