CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Two seniors who were attending graduation rehearsal for W.B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi died in a rollover accident Tuesday morning. The students were traveling back to school after their rehearsal at the American Bank Center. Another two students involved in the accident were left injured.

“Our Texan community is devastated by this loss of our graduating seniors,” said Principal Roxanne Cuevas. “Our hearts go out to all the loved ones affected by this tragedy.”

The names of the four students have not yet been released in order to protect their families’ privacy.

“We want to express our deepest condolences to the families of the two seniors we lost today,” said Corpus Christi ISD Superintendent Dr. Roland Hernandez. “We appreciate our community’s prayers for our district during what continues to be an incredibly challenging time for us as well as for educators across the nation.”

The high school graduation will take place on Friday, June 3 at 2 p.m., and chairs will be reserved to honor the deceased students.

The school district’s crisis counseling is available to students and staff.​
