TEXAS — Kendra Scott has declared the Monday after Mother’s Day a corporate holiday for her company. Calling it the “Taking the Time” initiative, Scott recognizes the Monday as an annual company-wide paid holiday. Its corporate office, retail stores and customer service will be closed to observe the holiday.

“As a working mother, I know how important it is to take the time to celebrate my children, my mother, and myself. To be able to provide my team more time to do just that brings me indescribable joy and hope for the future,” said Scott.

The holiday declaration follows Scott’s previously announced initiative of the “Kendra Scott Mother’s Day Personal Time Off Fund,” where 50 moms across the country will be given $2,000.

This PTO fund hopes to give mothers time off as well as celebrate and bring attention to all the unpaid parental care. Scott also hopes that this initiative will help cover childcare and other needs so that mothers can take the day off and focus on their own wellbeing.

"I'm a mom to three boys, as young as seven and as old as 19. I'm also a founder, designer, and philanthropist - but being a mom has always come first," says Kendra Scott, brand founder and entrepreneur. "Over the past year, the world has seen what I've always known to be true: Moms are superheroes, the ones that have held it all together, even through the most challenging times. And they deserve an acknowledgment of that this Mother's Day.
