FORT WORTH, Texas — The City of Fort Worth is asking the public to vote on a name for its up-and-coming 66-mile trail from Fort Worth to Dallas.

When the trail is complete, people will be able to walk, run and bike between the two cities. This trail will connect well-established trails such as the Trinity Trails, River Legacy Trail and Campion Trail. More than 50 miles of the trail are currently open and it is expected to be finished by early 2024.

In a forum that launched on April 25, North Texans are able to vote on a name through the next month. Participants will choose between two trail names and logo options and also give input on points of interests along the trail. The logo options and names were through a virtual open house last year with the help of public input.

The goal for this trail is to develop a regional brand for the facility, while boosting the tourism and culture of the five cities it goes through, including Arlington, Fort Worth, Grand Prairie, Dallas and Irving. The project will have a name, logo and branding material by early fall of this year.

The five cities’ mayors and staff have been collaborating on this project since 2013 to bring the alternate transportation route to life. The trail is designed to reduce traffic as well as boost recreational opportunities in North Texas.
