GRAPEVINE, Texas — We heard through the grapevine that someone in Texas is now nearly $7 million richer.
The $6.75 million jackpot winning ticket for the Texas Lottery drawing on March 5 was sold at the Grapevine Market located at 1216 W. Northwest Highway.
Cash value was selected at the time of purchase and the winning customer will take home $5,026,433.26 before taxes.
“We look forward to meeting the third Lotto Texas jackpot winner of 2022,” said Gary Grief, executive director of the Texas Lottery. “If you have the winning ticket, we encourage you to sign the ticket, put it in a safe place, seek financial and legal advice, and call the Texas Lottery to schedule an appointment to claim the prize.”
In addition to the jackpot winning ticket, another 47,000-plus tickets also received prizes in that drawing, ranging from $2 to $13,340 in rewards.
The next Texas Lotto drawing that took place March 7 is estimated to reset for a prize sum of $5 million.
Drawings for the Texas Lotto are held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and are based on drawing six numbers between 1-54. Players have the option to purchase and Extra! add-on feature for a dollar more to earn up to $10,000 more on non-jackpot prizes.
