TEXAS — Fresh off two rallies featuring Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-New York, in San Antonio and Austin, two progressive Texas congressional candidates are bringing in another big name.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., will next week campaign for Greg Casar and Jessica Cisneros.
According to a news release, Warren will join Cisneros on Tuesday, Feb. 22 at Cherrity Bar in San Antonio. The following day, she’ll appear with Casar at a meet-and-greet event at a location in East Austin.
Casar just ended his tenure with Austin City Council and is now running for the seat currently occupied by Rep. Lloyd Doggett in Texas’ 35th District
Laredo immigration attorney Cisneros is running against Rep. Henry Cuellar in Texas’ 28th District. Cuellar is currently embroiled in an FBI investigation.
Warren, a progressive Democrat who has been in the U.S. Senate since 2013, ran for president in 2020, finishing third in the Democratic primary.
