AUSTIN, Texas — Celebrating its 44th year in Austin, Texas, this week, Southwest Airlines has announced its largest schedule ever from Austin-Bergstrom International come March 2022.
The airline will be adding more than 20 flights day to its calendar, up to 105 departures a day. Southwest currently has nonstop service from Austin to 46 destinations.
“With today’s major investment, we’ve designed a schedule specifically focused on bringing key nonstop routes and adding additional frequencies on already served routes for Austin’s business and leisure travelers,” said Dave Harvey, Southwest Airlines vice president of business and executive ambassador to Austin. “We thank our Customers for the more than 44 years of success from the capitol (should be “capital” unless this is a direct quote) city and we look forward to welcoming more central Texans onboard our new flights in the coming months.”
Southwest is also adding nonstop flights to nine new destinations. These cities include Amarillo, Texas; Charleston, South Carolina; Columbus, Ohio; Midland, Texas; and Ontario, California on March 10. Service to Puerto Vallarta and seasonal weekly service to Panama City, Destin/Fort Walton Beach and Sarasota/Bradenton will begin March 12.
