TEXAS — Rise and shine. Sunday brunch just got a little boozier a little earlier. House Bill 1518, which goes into effect Wednesday, expands the hours of alcohol sales in Texas.
This expansion applies to grocery stores and convenience stores, where beer and wine can now be sold from 7 a.m. to midnight Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to midnight Sunday.
Liquor cannot be sold or delivered on Sundays, before 10 a.m. and after 9 p.m. on any other day, or on New Year’s, Thanksgiving or Christmas Day.
Under HB 1518, hotel bars are allowed to serve alcohol to registered guests at any time.
