WASHINGTON — The only living suspect charged in connection to Fort Hood soldier Spc. Vanessa Guillén's murder, is now facing more federal charges.

Cecily Aguilar, 22, of Killeen, is charged on 11 counts including conspiracy to tamper with documents, accessory after the fact, and destruction or falsification of records in a federal investigation.

Officials say Guillén, 20, was killed and dismembered by a fellow soldier. She had been missing since April 2020, and her remains were found and identified a month later. The soldier suspected in Guillén’s slaying, Spc. Aaron Robinson, shot and killed himself in July of 2020 as police were trying to take him into custody. Aguilar, a civilian, was arrested and charged with helping Robinson dispose of Guillén’s body.

Results from an independent review of Fort Hood released in December 2020 led to the suspension or firing of several people from the Army post, and found that the post had a widespread pattern of violence, including murder, sexual assault and harassment.
