COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Following a closure due to the coronavirus pandemic, the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, located on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, is set to reopen July 1.
The library has been shut down since March 2020, and although it is reopening a week from Thursday, there will be restrictions in place to mitigate the spread of the virus.
If you wish to visit, you’ll need to purchase tickets ahead of time via the library and museum’s website. Unvaccinated visitors over the age of 2 will be required to wear a mask while in the building. Masks are optional for vaccinated visitors.
“We are so excited to welcome our visitors back to the Bush Library and Museum,” said library director Warren Finch in a news release. “We know this year has been hard on a lot of people, and we are glad to be able to return to a bit of normalcy again. We have new temporary exhibits and can’t wait to see everyone in the museum.”
Hours of operation will initially be scaled back. The library and museum will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The last tickets will be sold at 2:15 p.m. and groups will be limited to six people.
School groups, group tours and public programs will not be permitted until further notice.
Visitors are encouraged to download the museum’s audio tour on their personal devices.
