Watt announced it via social media with a photo of himself working out in an Arizona Cardinals shirt and a caption that simply reads, “source: me.”

The Cardinals later confirmed Watt has signed a two-year contract. The terms weren’t immediately reported but a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter it’s worth $31 million, $23 million of which is guaranteed.

The Texans on February 12 agreed to release Watt, ending his 10-year tenure in Houston.

The three-time Defensive Player of the Year and 2017 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year spent his entire career with the Texans after being selected with the 11th overall pick in the 2011 draft.

The defensive end had one year remaining on a 6-year, $100 million contract.

The move to the desert will reunite Wattt with Cardinals defensive coordinator Vance Joseph, who served as the Texans’ defensive backs coach during Watt’s first three season there.
