SAN ANTONIO -- A Bexar County Sheriff's deputy has been arrested and placed on unpaid administrative leave.
• Charge involves choking and/or strangulation
• Deputy currently assigned to Law Enforcement Bureau Patrol Services Division
San Antonio police took the deputy into custody Monday morning. He's accused of assaulting a family member. The charge involves choking and/or strangulation.
The names of the deputy as well as the victim have not been released. However, we do know the deputy is currently assigned to the Law Enforcement Bureau Patrol Services Division.
The sheriff's office will release the name and photo of the deputy after he or she has been formally charged. San Antonio police are conducting a criminal investigation. The Bexar County Sheriff's Office of Internal Affairs will also conduct a separate, concurrent investigation.
