DALLAS — It’s less than 120 days before fairgoers converge on Fair Park to experience the sights and sounds at the State Fair of Texas. On Wednesday, the concert lineup was announced, featuring more than 15 entertainers on the Chevrolet Main Stage and dozens more on the Bud Light and Yuengling Stages.
Whether it’s country, rhythm and blues or pop, there’s something for people of all ages and musical taste to enjoy. As part of the fair ticket, attendees will have admission to the free concerts beginning on Sept. 30. Grammy-nominated Trace Adkins kicks off the 24 days of music followed by Grammy award-winning singer Ashanti on October 1. According to officials, at least 74 of the acts performing consists of local artists across the state.
Last year, the fair returned after the pandemic forced it to shut down during the 2021 season. Officials estimated that more than two million people returned to the fairgrounds to reconnect with some of their time-honored traditions.
“We are incredibly grateful that we played a part in reuniting friends and families for the time-honored tradition of the State Fair,” said Mitchell Glieber, State Fair of Texas president at the time. “We’d also like to extend a hearty thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy the 2021 exhibition — your support helped us bring back thousands of job opportunities for the North Texas community, it provided our vendors with the income they rely on to keep their small businesses flourishing for years to come, in addition will allow the State Fair to continue fulfilling its nonprofit, mission-related initiatives.”
