AUSTIN, Texas — Blues on the Green, a tradition for many Austinites, will not be held this year.
ACL Radio announced the decision and noted that holding the summer concert series has become difficult.
For over three decades, the tradition has moved from The Arboretum to Zilker Park, with Austin's growing skyline providing a picturesque setting.
ACL Radio cited rising costs that led to the event's cancellation, adding that "without admission fees or bar sales, it's become more challenging every year to produce an event that's grown to this size and still keep it free and open to the public."
Although ACL Radio canceled this year's event, officials remain optimistic that it's just a temporary setback, not a permanent goodbye.
