Heavy rain could lead to flooding for most of North Texas this afternoon through this evening.
A Flash Flood Watch continues through 10 p.m. for parts of North Texas today, including Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Fannin, Grayson, Hunt, Jack, Montague, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Stephens, Tarrant, Wise and Young Counties.
The Watch now also includes Comanche, Eastland, Ellis, Erath, Hood, Johnson and Somervell Counties.
An additional one to three inches of rain, with locally higher amounts in excess of four inches will be possible.
Many of these areas already received one to two inches this morning and more from Tuesday.
Flooding may occur in urban areas, poor drainage areas and creeks, streams or rivers.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.
If you come across flooded roads or water-crossings, remember, "turn around, don't drown," and never drive around barricades.
It only takes six inches of moving water to knock you off your feet.
Six inches of water can reach the bottom of most passenger cars, causing loss of control and possible stalling.
A foot of water will float many vehicles.
Two feet of rushing water can carry away most vehicles, including SUVs and pick-ups.
