The fashion house posted on X, formerly Twitter, releasing the news on Tuesday, with the rookie Frenchman reposting the announcement.

In an interview with GQ Sports about the news, Wembanyama talked about his excitement to partner with the luxury brand from his home country. 

“I wanted a meaningful partnership,” he told GQ. “To me it made a lot of sense to partner with LV—you know, French excellence. The expertise is something that I feel very much attracted to.”

He went on to joke to the GQ reporter that it is hard to find clothes that fit his athletic 7-foot-4 frame. 

“I'm tall, but I'm also pretty thin, so it's always been hard to find clothes that fit,” Wembanyama said to GQ. “But it is now possible with LV [Louis Vuitton].”

Wembanyama was chosen by the Spurs in the 2023 NBA draft as the No. 1 overall pick, and he wore a Louis Vuitton suit to the occasion.
