SAN ANTONIO — The Alamo City should be filled to the brim with pride right about now with its big win at the Academy of Country Music in honor of one of its local rodeos. The awards show recognized the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo as “Rodeo of the Year” on Wednesday night.

The ACM ceremony was held in Nashville, Tennessee, at the well-known Ryman Auditorium.

This marks the San Antonio rodeo’s first time winning this award. As a nonprofit organization, it has over 6,000 volunteers for its event each year to help sustain the high expectations at the show.

Giving thanks to its many volunteers and visitors for making this achievement possible, the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo has made many contributions to the community itself — putting over $243 million toward its educational commitment for Texas youth.
