SAN ANTONIO — Happy Pride Month! There’s lots to do in the coming days to revel in pride for the LGBTQIA+ community, even with Texas’ political whirlpool concerning those of “nonconventional” sexual identities. Pride Week San Antonio is for congenial community members to foster inclusivity and cherish one another’s differences.
Through the long slot of events, Pride SA’s goal is to spotlight the LGBTQIA+ community and their many contributions.
“Pride Week San Antonio represents the embodiment of ideologies of trailblazers such as Harvey Milk aspirations of ‘hope’ and Audre Lorde’s ‘celebrate diversity.’ And Pride Week San Antonio reflects the words of local activist Carlos Vela, to ‘facilitate the needs of individuals so that individuals can facilitate the needs of a community,’” Pride SA said in a press release.
Maybe you’re into fashion, animals, faith or dancing — all of that and more is available at Pride SA. Family-friendly fun can certainly be expected.
