SAN ANTONIO — The AMBER alert for Lina Sardar Khil has been discontinued, but the San Antonio Police Department said the search is not over.

The Department of Public Safety discontined the AMBER Alert, but did not give a reason why. According to SAPD, the 3-year-old's case is still an active missing person investigation and detectives are following up on all leads.

“While the Amber Alert for Lina has been suspended, it’s critical to communicate that Lina is still a missing person and once again, we continue to follow-up on leads and actively search for Lina,” SAPD said in its press release.

Earlier this week the FBI dive team joined the search.

Lina Sardar Khil was last seen in the playground of a northwest San Antonio apartment complex Dec. 20. between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. According to police, Lina was at the playground with her mother, who had walked away briefly. The child was missing when her mother returned, McManus said.
