SAN ANTONIO – Locals in need now have a new way of getting help from the San Antonio Food Bank thanks to a program that can help fit their schedules better.
The food bank launched a new curbside pickup program this week, saying the program will replace onsite distribution.
“The program was launched to ensure we are not only providing food assistance when needed but to show we value your time,” wrote food bank staff on social media.
Organizers say the program works just like curbside pickup at a grocery store. Those in need of food assistance call ahead of time to register for a spot and then volunteers will bring the food out and place in their vehicle.
In order to schedule a pickup time, you can call 210-431-8326 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. or on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
