SAN ANTONIO β With October comes Halloween decorations, movies, and candy. Despite the pandemic, the Alamo City has several socially distant events happening to help people enjoy the seasonβs traditions.
Amusement parks and local attractions are sticking with their annual events, but entry requirements will look a bit different. Check for details below.
13th Floor
One of the most popular and supposedly haunted attractions in San Antonio has decided to reopen for the 2020 Halloween season, but with COVID-19 precautions in place.
The haunted house will have limited capacity and attendees are encouraged to buy tickets in advance as it is expected to sell out quickly.
Safety regulations include social distancing between groups, staff wearing PPE, and hand sanitizer will be available. Face masks are required.
Six Flags Fiesta Texas
The thrill-filled amusement park is hosting Hallowfest between September 18 and November 1.
During the day, there will be shows at the two outdoor theaters and Halloween-themed snacks throughout the park. At night, creatures will provide fright in open-air designated areas.
On Saturdays, the park will host even more exciting festivities, with designated scare zones, fireworks, light shows and more.
Social distancing will be enforced, as will face coverings. Reservations are required to enter the park and no decorative face masks or paint will be allowed.
The park will only be open on Fridays and Saturdays and hours are subject to change. Check the website for more information.
Drive-In at Fiesta Texas
Along with Hallowfest, Six Flags will be using its grounds as a drive-in movie theatre hosted by Rooftop Cinema Club to feature movies Halloween enthusiasts love. Some titles include Halloweentown, Hocus Pocus and Hotel Transylvania.
Tickets range between $24 and $32 depending on the section. Safety guidelines include face coverings outside of vehicles and distancing between vehicles. Outside food and beverage is allowed.
SeaWorld San Antonio
Spooktacular will happen each weekend between September 25 and October 1.
The seasonal event will include a trick-or-treat trail, Sesame Street shows and a pumpkin patch. Reservations are required and only children under 12 are allowed to wear decorative masks.

San Antonio Zoo
Zoo Boo! Is back with drive-thru options.
There will be trick-or-treating, costumes contests, a hay maze, and a dance party. The park has scheduled specific hours to these events.
The park will also be following safety protocols for COVID-19.
Burton Ball Nights
A drive-thru experience dedicated to everything Tim Burton will take place at Traders Village all month long.
There will be a costume contents and virtual vendors and artists.
