TEXAS – Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced plans to reopen the Lone Star State’s economy last week and major Texas grocery retailer H-E-B is falling in line.
- H-E-B shortened hours in March after surge
- Will continue to practice safety measures
H-E-B will extend its hours of operation beginning Monday, April 27 after shortening hours in March when customers began rushing to stores to stock up for the coronavirus pandemic.
Texas will begin reopening in stages, Abbott said, with those businesses that can successfully maintain social distancing practices to be the first to reopen. Starting Friday, April 24, all retail establishments will be permitted to reopen so long as they can provide to-go services.
The major grocery retailer has taken several steps to promote social distancing while continuing to be as available as possible to the most vulnerable in the community.
