TEXAS — As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread throughout Texas, many people are rushing to grocery stores to stock up on essential items.
The increased traffic at stores is causing long lines and many customers are reporting empty shelves.
“Texans must continue to prepare, but panic does not promote progress,” H-E-B said on its website.
The company says it is in a good position to restock its shelves. In an email to Spectrum News, H-E-B said the following:
H-E-B has been preparing for coronavirus for several months and we are in a strong position to keep replenishing our shelves. Customers should not panic, we have the ability to restock shelves and encourage our customers to remain calm. H-E-B Partners are ready to help Texas slow the spread.
The store has also changed its hours. H-E-B stores, Central Market and H-E-B Pharmacies open at 8 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. until further notice.
