UPDATE:

SAN ANTONIO – After only a week, San Antonio officials say they are pausing the application period early for the Corona Art Relief Program because of an overwhelming number of applications.

The program is now accepting application through 5 p.m. on April 3. Originally they planned on taking applications until April 14.

“The high number of applications received to date further confirms what we already knew, that there is a great need in our arts community,” said Luminaria Artist Foundation’s Executive Director Kathy Armstrong in an emailed statement. “Pausing the program allows us to help those who have applied while also focusing efforts on securing contributions to help our goal of restarting the program to assist more artists.”

SAN ANTONIO – Relief is coming to some artists who are suffering financially because of COVID-19 precautions.

The City of San Antonio’s Department of Arts & Culture, along with Luminaria, has created the “Corona Arts Relief” program.

The program is designed to provide money to artists for professional and technical development or to reimburse them for lost revenues.

Artists within Bexar County can apply for the grant and receive up to $600. Applications will be taken from March 25 to April 14.

In order to qualify for the lost revenue funding, artists must be able to provide budget request and supporting documentation for reimbursement.
