SAN ANTONIO — While the rest of the country gets ready for season 24 of The Bachelor, one San Antonio woman hopes she’s the lucky one to fly away with his heart.

Alayah Benavidez is a 24-year-old orthodontist assistant and former Miss Texas USA. According to her biography on ABC.com, she studied English in college and writes poetry. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with her friends at the River Walk and giving back to her community. She says her spirit animal is a Texas Longhorn. She competed in Miss Texas USA four times before taking home the crown in 2018.

She is one of 30 women vying for the affection of Peter Weber, or Pilot Pete, as he’s known to Bachelor Nation. The Delta pilot was one of the top three contestants on Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette, but was sent home before the final rose ceremony.

Will Benavidez be the one to win Pilot Pete’s love? Season 24 of The Bachelor premieres tonight at 7 p.m.
