SAN ANTONIO – The 2019 Valero Alamo Bowl is set for New Year’s Eve at the Alamodome and the teams facing each other have been announced.

The No. 11 Utah Utes, part of the Pac-12, will challenge the University of Texas Longhorns.

The Longhorns finished a tough season with a 7-5 record, including a loss against currently-ranked No. 1 Louisiana State University during their College Game Day appearance. Earlier this year, Texas beat Georgia in the Sugar Bowl 28-21. It will be Texas's fourth time in the Alamo Bowl.

Utah is 11-2 overall and was a top contender for the College Football Playoffs until their recent loss to No. 6 Oregon. Utah lost in the 2018 Holiday Bowl against Northwestern 20-31.

Kick-off is set for 6:30 p.m.
