SAN ANTONIO -- It’s a lifesaving journey. More than two dozen dogs Tuesday morning boarded a plane bound for Colorado and their eventual forever homes.
San Antonio Pets Alive! teamed with Dog is my CoPilot to fly more than 30 dogs that ended up at the city shelter in San Antonio to a new home.
San Antonio Pets Alive!’s Headin’ Home Transport Program provides a lifesaving outlet to dogs facing euthanasia at the shelter.
It turns out dogs are in high demand in a number of communities in Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah. San Antonio Pets Alive! says most of the dogs are adopted quickly, usually within two weeks.
The dogs were flown out of Kelly Field Airport.
