SAN ANTONIO – Two local organizations are holding a search for Andreen McDonald, who went missing under suspicious circumstances at the end of February.

  • Asking for volunteers
  • Want to give daughter closure
  • Police offering reward for tips

The Chain Breakers Search & Rescue & Domestic Violence Assistance and Search & Support are asking for volunteers during a ground search on Sunday at 8 a.m. at 19202 Blanco Rd.

The group is looking to give McDonald's 6-year-old daughter closure.

"Giving closure to her, you know, as she grows up and things like that. She'll be able to understand and know - 'You know what? People in this community do care, and they were there for my family and I,'" volunteer Bobby Green said.

In April, Andreen McDonald's husband, Andre McDonald, posted bond after being arrested in connection with her disappearance.

Evidence found in his possession that led to his arrest included receipts, a shovel, an ax, a hatchet, large trash bags, and gas cans, which had traces of blood. According to Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar, these findings led authorities to believe that the items were implements that were going to be used to dispose of a body.

There have been several searches for her since March. Police have also offered a reward for any tips regarding the investigation.
