SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Sheriff's Office asked the community to join the search for Andreen McDonald on Thursday. She has been missing since the end of February.

  • Check-in started at 8 a.m. at Eisenhower Park
  • Second search will start tentatively at 1 p.m.
  • Volunteers will shuttled from park to Camp Bullis

Volunteers checked in at 8 a.m. at Eisenhower Park.

The sheriff’s office will be joined by personnel from United States Air Force 502nd Air Base Wing Joint Base San Antonio and will continue the search for McDonald at Camp Bullis.

During a presser before the search began, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said over 200 volunteers had been accounted for, as well as over 100 law enforcement personnel.

Salazar said it is believed that the husband of Andreen McDonald was near or had entered Camp Bullis around the time of her disappearance.

A second search is tentatively scheduled for 1 p.m.

Volunteers will be shuttled from the park into Camp Bullis.

Guidelines for volunteers:

  • Dress appropriately for cold weather
  • Wear comfortable and suitable shoes for walking through rugged terrain
  • Bring a valid government-issued identification card
  • Leave all weapons at home including knives
  • Walking sticks are allowed
  • Light snacks and water will be provided

This will be the second volunteer search for McDonald.

Her husband, Andre McDonald, who is a major in the Air Force, was arrested earlier in the week in connection to her disappearance and possible death. He is being held at the Bexar County Jail on a $2 million bond on a charge of tampering with evidence.
