SAN ANTONIO – A 16-year-old girl is dead after a shooting inside a South Side home late Monday night.

At 11:33 p.m. a shooting victim was transported to the hospital by her boyfriend. The teen had critical injuries after she was shot in the torso, and later died.
According to police, the shooting happened inside the back room of a home. However, police do not know what led up to the shooting or who fired the gun. Investigators said the stories are not adding up.
The boyfriend told police he saw the teen playing with a handgun earlier in the night. He claimed to have heard a gunshot in her room while he was in the kitchen.
When he was asked where the gun is, the boyfriend said he didn’t know. The gun has yet to be located by police.
At this time no charges have been filed. The boyfriend was taken to police headquarters for questioning.
The Medical Examiner confirmed that the teen was pronounced dead Tuesday morning.
