After seven months of intensive training, the Cadet Class of 2018-D graduated 33 men and 4 women.
Chief William McManus, family and friends joined the department to celebrate the graduation ceremony at St. Phillip’s College.
“We’re lucky to be in San Antonio because we have a community that supports us and that support is built on the foundation that we’ve built over the years, of doing good things, of doing the right thing.” McManus said. “That’s what our graduates have heard, and that’s what they’re going to do. They’ve promised me that.”
One family member said she was very proud of her nephew, who had followed in his mother’s footsteps.
The new officers will experience their first patrol on Thursday.
