SAN ANTONIO – SeaWorld San Antonio will open one new animal attraction and two new rides to the public on Friday.
- Turtle Reef is a 126,000-gallon habitat
- Features unique bio-filtration
- Two new rides inspired by the sea turtle attraction
Turtle Reef, a 126,000-gallon, fully immersive habitat with floor-to-ceiling underwater viewing, will provide guests with an immersive and educational look the underwater world of endangered sea turtles and hundreds of multi-colored tropical fish.
The habitat also features a unique natural bio-filtration process, the only one of its kind in a zoological setting in the United States.
"Guests are really going to love this. It's our first new animal experience at SeaWorld in over 30 years," SeaWorld San Antonio Park President Carl Lum said.
Lum also said they plan to roll out new attractions each year for the next few years.
The Riptide Rescue ride is a spinner ride that allows guests to board a boat and set out on their own sea turtle rescue mission while Sea Swinger will swing riders 180-degrees in both directions.
