POTEET, Texas -- One man was shot and killed by a Department of Public Safety officer following two domestic disturbances, leaving two people injured on Friday night.

According to Lt. Reyes Jason with DPS, officers were called out to a domestic disturbance in Jourdanton between a husband and a wife.
The man left the scene and went to Poteet where he had another domestic dispute with his father and another person. He stabbed both of them and left.
DPS troopers found him around 7:30 p.m. on Rutledge Road.
He came out of the woods and engaged officers with a knife. One trooper fired multiple shots.
The suspect died on scene. The two people stabbed were taken to University Hospital.
The trooper will be taking a leave of absence. He was with the department for 2 years.
