SAN ANTONIO — The 127th annual Battle of Flowers Parade is happening today.
And this year's Battle of Flowers is a special one — The massive community event is showcasing the city's San Antonio’s Tricentennial Celebration.

On Thursday, plenty of people were busy setting up their spots.
The Cortez family, known for owning Mi Tierra, La Magarita and Pico De Gallo, will be the grand marshals.
The route begins on Grayson Street and Broadway, will then roll south into the heart of the city directly in front of the Alamo.
This year, the Vanguard has a record-breaking 2,500 parade participants.
The parade will pause at the Shrine of Texas and place a floral tribute on the lawn.
The original purpose of the Battle of Flowers is to honor the heroes of the Alamo.
The floats will begin to slowly roll out shortly after 9 a.m. More than 350,000 people are expected to pack downtown city streets.
