The city is really pushing for more input from the public this year.
This week, city leaders will even be hosting several community meetings across town where you can throw in your two cents on how the city should spend its money.
The first community meeting is happening on Monday on the East Side at the Claude Black Community Center.
The next meeting is on Tuesday on the Northside at Phil Hardberger Park.
On Thursday, city officials will head to the Northeast Side to host a community open house at The Tool Yard.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the budget presentation begins at 6 p.m.
These are just three of five public meetings that will take place before council adopts the final 2017 budget in September.
So far this year, more than 5,000 people have outlined what they believe should be the priorities.
That's considerably up from the 1,900 who did the same last year.
The city says that's thanks in part to an aggressive campaign it launched to get locals more informed and more involved.
