One of the few cold fronts to reach Texas this fall brought some storms to North Texas, but only rain showers elsewhere. Now that boundary has stalled across south Texas near San Antonio.

Cooler air has cleared the skies behind the front, making for a pleasant Halloween in those regions. Warmer, cloudy and humid conditions are still in place to the south.

That front will begin to return northward as it dissipates on Friday. This will return moist, unstable to all regions by Saturday. Showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible through the weekend, but it won’t be a total washout.

Temperatures – while cooler – will still be above normal.

The next seven days will see two more rounds of potentially severe weather along with associated cold fronts. The second of these may finally bring much cooler weather to Texas by the end of next week.
